ACTION ALERT – IECC Energy Code Development
STATE/LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL JURISDICTIONS MUST SUBMIT YOUR JURISDICTION’S DELEGATION VOTING REPRESENTATIVES BY September 1, 2013 IN ORDER TO VOTE ON 2015 MODEL ENERGY CODE
Under a new requirement of the International Code Council (ICC), your jurisdiction cannot vote on the development of the 2015 IECC (America’s model energy code for residential and commercial building efficiency) unless your Governmental Membership Application/Renewal is received by April 1, 2013. The Delegated Voting Representative information must be submitted by September 1, 2013 in order to vote in the October Final Action Hearings in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
What does it take to be an ICC Governmental Member?
ICC’s eligible Governmental Members include agencies, departments, and units that administer, formulate or enforce laws, regulations or ordinances relating to public health, safety and welfare. Each Governmental Member can designate 4-12 voting representatives “who are employees or officials of that governmental member and are actively engaged full or part-time” in the functions above.
