Training to Improving the Uniformity of Practice

IBTS offers customized education and training programs to increase understanding of and compliance to building codes, standards, regulations, and related issues.

IBTS has a long history of providing custom, ongoing training and education programs to architects, engineers, code officials, and building inspectors at the local, state, and federal level. This experience includes working with the Manufactured Housing industry, as well as the regions that IBTS serves, to utilize the most up-to-date codes and practices. Some violations and failures to conform occur as a result of requirements being misunderstood, misapplied, or because of recent government changes.

IBTS’s training and education programs are led and developed by the individuals entrenched in the work itself, sharing their knowledge to the organizations and regions we serve. IBTS places a great importance on ensuring that our own inspectors and code enforcement officers are well-informed on the most current building code standards, regulations, and safety practices, and have the most up-to-date information available to them. In turn, this creates better training programs for our clients.

With more than 20 years of experience providing ongoing training to industry professionals, our trainers have learned the value of creating a professional, highly interactive classroom environment. Participants take superb training materials away with them for future reference. Continuing education isn’t just about what happens in a six-hour classroom session – its success is often best measured by what participants continue to use on the job.

Small Participant-to-Instructor Ratios

Most of our learning events are conducted in small classroom or meeting-style environments with a participant-to-instructor ratio of no more than 50-to-1. The meeting room/classroom style allows participants and instructors to interactively access workbooks and other reference materials during the session.

Encouraged by the instructor, participants are challenged as the class works through examples, illustrations, graphics, code references and situational analyses.

IBTS understands how a well-trained staff can increase your bottom line performance. All of our instructors are committed to help you achieve this smart performance.

Our Work in Action

After Hurricane Katrina caused wide-spread damage throughout Louisiana, the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council (LSUCCC) updated and restructured its approach to building code enforcement and required all construction and reconstruction to conform to the new codes. IBTS stepped in to assist the 11 Parishes most affected by the hurricanes by delivering training programs to get building inspectors up-to-speed on the new codes and by assisting local government personnel in obtaining state-mandated certifications.

IBTS is accredited to provide Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), the International Code Council (ICC), and the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
