Serving Up Some L.O.V.E. in West Harlem

By January 17, 2019Community Involvement

On Monday, January 14, our New York office participated in their third annual Locally Organized Volunteer Event (L.O.V.E.) Day! The team volunteered their time and services to the Food Bank for New York City in Harlem, NY, where they spent the day chopping, seasoning, cooking, cleaning, and serving the senior citizens of the community. They served lunch for over 300 people through this wonderful experience.

“Everyone had a great time. It was a lot of hard work, but seeing the smiles on the seniors’ faces for our help was the best gift we could have received,” said April Bolton, Assistant Project Manager for Economic Development and Disaster Recovery at IBTS. “Working with the staff and other volunteers was exciting; we took direction well and were able to complete a full service. We are all looking forward to the next volunteer event!”

As a nonprofit organization, we strive to give back to the communities we live and work in. L.O.V.E. Days  in each IBTS location are an integral part of this effort and we look forward to expanding our reach to more worthwhile community activities.

Stay tuned for more L.O.V.E. Day happenings this spring!
