As part of IBTS’ nonprofit commitment to serving the public good, IBTS recently sponsored the Casey Cares Foundation’s 19th Annual Gala. Casey Cares is a nonprofit that provides ongoing and uplifting programming to critically ill children and their families.
The Annual Gala, which includes a live silent auction, is the organization’s biggest event of the year. This year’s sold-out event raised over $35,000 during the silent auction alone. The money raised through the event helps the organization continue their mission to help thousands of children in the coming year.
“It was incredible to see the continued generosity of the attendees, individuals, corporations, and local business owners digging deeper into their pockets during the live auction,” says Glenda Crennel, IBTS operations project coordinator. “The knowledge that all donations collected would be directly benefiting children while they are battling life-threatening diseases of all kinds is what made the giving worthwhile.”
Crennel initiated IBTS’ donation to the organization and attended the event on behalf of IBTS. Crennel and her family have a personal connection with the organization, having previously participated in a number of Casey Cares sponsored events when her son was undergoing chemotherapy.
Headquartered in Baltimore, Casey Cares works with families in eight states throughout the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the Midwest. The Foundation serves more than 1,200 families each year. A child typically participates in about six programs each year, which range from weekend getaways and birthday parties, to concerts and sports games.
IBTS provided the donation as part of its Charitable Donations Committee. Founded in 2017, the committee facilitates employee requests for IBTS-sponsored donations to organizations of their choice. The committee supports IBTS’ nonprofit mission and is part of IBTS’ larger commitment to serve the public good.
Through the program, IBTS has provided donations to:
- Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter
- Prospect Park
- Dulles Youth Sports
- Mobile Hope
- Touching Heart
- American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
- Crossroads Center
- Girl Scout Troop #4468
- Immokalee Foundation
IBTS is honored to support the Casey Cares Foundation in continuing its important mission to brighten the lives of critically ill children and their families, and to give back to an organization that assisted one of our own employees.
