September 13, 2017 – Ashburn, VA:
With the continued growth throughout IBTS, there have been significant, executive-level changes to include new hires and promotions.
The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has experienced considerable growth in recent years, which has prompted executive level changes. These changes include hiring a new Chief Operating Officer (COO), a Chief Marketing and Development Officer (CMDO), and the current COO and Chief Financial Officer’s (CFO) transition to the role of President.
Over the past three years, IBTS has grown by 40%, adding new services and major clients along the way. With this growth, co-founders Ashok Goswami and Shyam Choudhary felt that by expanding the executive team, the organization would continue to flourish. Former IBM Corporation Vice President, Dion Rudnicki, was selected to fill the role of COO. Mr. Rudnicki comes to IBTS with over thirty years of business experience, primarily serving the US federal government as well as international and local governments. In his new role at IBTS, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, working across the organization to ensure IBTS delivers high-quality services that are within budget and on time. Mr. Rudnicki will also oversee growth into new markets that will maximize value for the clients, stakeholders, and the organization as a whole.
Chris Fennell joined IBTS earlier this summer as the Director of Development and Marketing after having previously served the organization both as an employee and as a consultant for 25 years. With the recent organizational changes, Mr. Fennell has been promoted to the role of CMDO. In this role, he will be responsible for overall growth through marketing, business development, and strategic planning to maximize IBTS’s impact on communities, programs, governance, and thought leadership. Mr. Fennell will work to meet the needs of the communities, governments, and industries IBTS serves and to expand services across the nation by implementing initiatives to maximize the organization’s growth.
The final organizational change that IBTS implemented this month was to pass the role of President from the current CEO and Founder, Ashok Goswami, to his co-Founder and CFO, Shyam Choudhary. While Mr. Goswami will remain the CEO of IBTS, he felt that this was an important move in his succession planning.
“IBTS has seen great growth in recent years, not only in the size of our staff, but also in the quality and range of services we deliver to local, state, and federal governments,” says Ashok Goswami, CEO and at IBTS. “Mr. Rudnicki and Mr. Fennell are two of the industry’s finest and were the perfect candidates to fill the roles of COO and CMDO. I have no doubt that they will succeed in these roles and I look forward to the continued growth this organization will see under their leadership.”
