IBTS provides independent and unbiased plan and peer reviews nationwide. We are proud of our superior reputation for timely, accurate reporting and team approach, and are adamant about our independence as third-party review agency.
IBTS’s staff includes fully qualified and multi-discipline-certified plans examiners and code officials for building, electrical, fire safety, mechanical, and plumbing. Our services make the jobs of inspectors and contractors much easier by reducing questions and confusion in the field.
Additionally, IBTS can reduce the burden on building departments and save developers, builders, and homeowners valuable time and money by significantly reducing the turnaround time for plan reviews. Compared with public-sector building departments, which can take up to 12 weeks to complete plan reviews due to the work high volumes, IBTS complete reviews in less than two weeks. Likewise, code consultations can be done in as little as one day.

Our Work in Action
IBTS performed all Building Code Plan Reviews under Washington D.C.’s Department of Buildings (DOB, formerly the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs, or DCRA) third party review for CityCenterDC, a 2.5 million-square-foot mixed-use development on a 10-acre site in the heart of downtown Washington, DC. IBTS performed all building, structural, accessibility, fire and life safety, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing reviews, and reviewed building designs from coordination of site plans with building plans to final tenant fit-out plans as applicable.
